Jen Harris

Jen brings over 20 years of experience in photography, digital imaging, and exhibition design to Jen Harris Studio. From corporate headshots to family portraiture, Jen offers a wide range of photography that reflects specific needs and personalities. She has digitized and archived over 15,000 pieces of artwork for The National Portrait Gallery, The National Museum of African American History & Culture, and private collectors. Jen’s roots are in museum exhibit design, and she enjoys telling stories through photo research, oral history quotes, artifact digitization, graphic design, and exhibition layout.

In 2015, she founded The Story of Our Schools, a 501c3 nonprofit. SOOS empowers youth in Washington, DC to research the history of their school community and share their findings through the creation of a permanent exhibit installed in their school lobby. The organization has been featured in the Washington Post, DCist, Washington Informer, East of the River, Hill Rag, Popville, and recognized by The Charles Sumner School Museum and Archives and the Capitol Hill Community Foundation.

Jen Harris graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science in Photography. She currently resides in Washington, DC.
